Melaque and Barra de Navidad are in the state of Jalisco and are
approximately 225 kilometers south of Puerto Vallarta, on the Costa
Alegra, and 280 kilometers from Guadalajara. The largest city near
Melaque is Manzanillo, a busy commercial port that handles large
cargo ships and has a sizable commercial fishing fleet.
Melaque and San Patricio
The towns of Melaque and San Patricio offer a variety of sights
and atractions. Surrounding the Bahia de Navidad are the foothills
of the Sierra Madres which frame the fertile tropical plains with
cattle, mangoes, bananas, and coconut palms. Deep sea fishing for

Have your catch prepared in one of our local or international restaurants
for a bit of "exquisite dining," but only after you have
shown your trophy fish in one of our fishing tournaments.
The Colonial city of
For a day tour visit the colonial city of Colima, site of one of
Mexico's active volcanos and see the temples that were aligned with
the volcano. In the 11th century Colima was known to the Aztecs
as Cajitlan "where pottery is made." Colima an area rich
in Archeological sites and Spanish colonial structures was an important
waypoint for the Spaniards travelling from the coast to the interior
of Mexico. Colima is truly, one of Mexico's beautiful small cities.
